Village Walk Skyline Celebrates Breaking Ground for Future Development

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (June 9, 2020): Village Walk Skyline, the proposed luxury development at the base of the Northstar California ski resort officially broke ground on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. The event was celebrated with a small gathering of team members involved including the development team Paradigm8 and Tahoe Mountain Realty retained for all sales and marketing of the project, and a Zoom call to congratulate those who were not able to attend due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

The community will be a hybrid of traditional on-site construction and off-site modular development at the Method Homes factory in Bellingham, Washington. By utilizing the benefits of off-site construction and minimizing waste in a controlled environment, Village Walk Skyline is committed to an eco-friendly process that saves valuable time on home delivery as work will occur in both locations simultaneously.

While COVID-19 had the potential to disrupt production, Village Walk Skyline will continue to deliver the first two residences to meet the original schedule of Christmas, 2020.

“COVID-19 sent everyone across the nation reeling, in a sense, but the owner of this project stepped up to the plate and kept things moving in a safe and efficient way. We realize how important it is, now more than ever, to breathe the fresh mountain air and get away from it all. We want to make sure that Village Walk Skyline provides that reprieve. Everyone is working to get committed homeowners and their families into new homes on time,” said Hillary MacLean from Paradigm8, the local development company involved in the project.

The site near the Village at Northstar will be prepared for the foundation and framing of the prefabricated modules using traditional home development operations. Meanwhile, construction on the custom-designed homes has also begun at the Method Home factories in Seattle, Washington.

Modern prefabricated homes allow for the highest level of quality control, ensuring that all the materials are sustainably sourced and used conscientiously. The homes will exude quality and incorporate a multitude of luxury features including wall-to-ceiling windows, LEED-certified appliances and fixtures, an open floorplan, and more.

Village Walk Skyline Homes are designed as luxury examples of mountain modern architecture. The way the residences will be produced both on and off-site will allow for less impact on the environment while expediting building time. They will represent the future of responsible homeownership and with construction officially underway, completion is not far behind.
